RAB5C (RAB5C, Member RAS Oncogene Family) is a Protein Coding gene. The RAB5C gene, located on 17q21.2, is conserved in chimpanzee, Rhesus monkey, dog, cow, mouse, rat, chicken, zebrafish, fruit fly, mosquito, and frog. Members of the Rab protein family are small GTPases of the Ras superfamily that are thought to ensure fidelity in the process of docking and/or fusion of vesicles with their correct acceptor compartment. RAB5C is widely expressed in the kidney, bone marrow, and other tissues. Diseases associated with RAB5C include Argentine Hemorrhagic Fever.
